Balance Walk

Balance is an asset at any age and level of physical fitness. By adding extra balance challenges as you walk, you will train yourself to be better able to maintain your balance and agility when you have to make a sudden move, such as in sports. You can also be better able to respond to tripping and slipping hazards, whether hiking a rough trail or in daily life.

  • Start with your arms stretched out from your sides, at about shoulder height.
  • Focus on a spot several feet ahead of you, with your chin up and not looking at the ground.
  • Begin to walk. As you lift your rear leg and bring it forward, pause with your knee up for one second before placing your foot on the ground, stepping forward.
  • Now do the same with the other leg. As you bring it forward, pause for one second with your knee up before placing that foot ahead of you.
  • Repeat steps.

Mandala Arrangement

A Mandala flower arrangement shows balance in visual forms which symbolizes unity and harmony.

Mandalas help to focus your attention. Therefore they’re an excellent exercise to calm any feelings of stress and clear your mind.

These are some of the benefits of mandalas:

  • Facilitate balance.
  • Bring peace and serenity.
  • Promote a sense of tranquility.
  • Help your concentration.
  • Encourage you to give your full attention.
  • Allow you to put your thoughts aside and your creativity to flow.
  • Convey a sense of equilibrium as you arrange them.

Rock Balancing

Also stone balancing, or stacking is a form of recreation or artistic expression in which rocks are piled in balanced stacks, often in a precarious manner.

Balancing rocks is seen by those who perform it as a meditative and creative activity as the process of physically handling and balancing the stones provides them with mental health benefits.

Stone Walk (foot reflexology)

By walking on stones of different sizes, the feet reflexes are activated and the energy of the whole body is stimulated.

Walking barefoot on stones can be an important step to better health, including less tension and lower blood pressure.

Labyrinth Walk

Walking a labyrinth is a meditative and contemplative practice that involves navigating a winding path leading to a central point and then back out again. It's often used as a form of moving meditation or a metaphorical journey. Here's a reflection inspired by a labyrinth walk:

As I step onto the labyrinth's path, each turn becomes a metaphor for life's journey. The twists and turns, the moments of uncertainty, all leading to the centerβ€”the heart of understanding.

With each step, I release the noise of the outside world. The labyrinth becomes a sacred space, a quiet refuge for self-discovery. The rhythm of my breath aligns with the cadence of my footsteps, creating a harmony that resonates within.

The journey to the center mirrors my quest for inner peace. There, in the stillness, I find clarity. The answers may not always be apparent, but the quietude allows my thoughts to settle like falling leaves.

Turning back towards the entrance, I carry with me the insights gained in the center. The labyrinth reflects the cyclical nature of lifeβ€”a continuous journey of learning, growing, and returning to the world with renewed purpose.

As I exit the labyrinth, I am reminded that every step, no matter how small, contributes to the larger path of my existence. The labyrinth walk, a dance of introspection and serenity, becomes a metaphor for the beauty found in the journey itself.

Grounding or Earthing

Grounding, also known as earthing, is a practice that involves connecting with the Earth's natural energy by physically touching the ground, such as walking barefoot on soil, grass, and sand. Proponents of grounding believe that direct contact with the Earth's surface can have various health benefits by balancing the body's electrical charge and reducing inflammation.

Enjoy our pumice garden

These beautiful pumice stones were collected by the local people near Mt. Pinatubo. They were from the magma, erupted last 1991. This disaster became the living of hundreds of the families in the area. 𝑾𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍. Observe small things in Shanti when you visit this sanctuary. Each is with its own character.
